As anyone who's been to that part of Scotland knows, Nessie is big business. Not finding/identifying the Monster is in everyone's best interest. It is good for the economy to have the occasional sighting, be it visual or on sonar, to keep the story before the public at large. How many people would travel half way around the world to see a giant eel?
