Name a common term or expression used today that would have meant nothing to someone 50 years ago.

I'd like to find an old dictionary (say pre 1970) and look up "google." There is a math term that's similar, but it's spelled differently. The only use of "goggle" I can recall was comic strip character "Barney Google." Barney has the distinction of being the only US comic strip character to ever be written out of his own comic strip, replaced by "Snuffy Smith."

Duke I used to love the Snuffy Smith cartoons in the paper when I was little !
Meaningless terms for people in the past :
Arizona Cardinals
Arizona Diamondbacks
Baltimore Ravens
Indianapolis Colts
Florida Marlins
Miami Heat
That Memphis hockey team

The changes in sports teams' names and locations is a Question of the Day in its own right.

Back twenty years ago I considered writing an article about what the landscape of college football would have looked like if the various universities that either deemphasized (dropped to a lower level of play) or totally dropped football had stayed viable at the D1A level. No matter how I would have slotted those teams circa 2000, it couldn't have looked as surreal as what we are facing today and in the next few years.
