I love the part that says:

Like most medicines in the US, most of the cost of the new treatment will be paid by insurers — not patients — including private plans and government programs.

(Excuse me, but just where do you think THAT money comes from?)

OK, my complaint is I don't care how much "research" went into it. That's what your company does for a living..research and producing meds. NO medicine should cost 3.5 million for a one time treatment. Bad enough I have a drug that is close to $700 a month and hubs and I are both on it. When I'm in the "donut hole", which is now, I have to pay out of pocket 25% of that cost. It's Trelegy which is little puffs of powdered medication in a disc. Greed...this is pure greed plain and simple.

End rant.

There is no profit in cures which is why we almost never see them. The profit is in endless "treatments."

Medicine is a racket.

My niece was prescribed a certain medicine that my brother in law's insurance did not cover completely. $3000 per bottle.
