Watch the video, pretty scary from my perspective. I was never bothered by heights.....until about 5-6 years ago.
Awesome video, I have seen similar. Heights don't bother me in the least. What bothers me is that sudden stop if you fall ;) All the same, I'd do it. I'm sure he gets paid a pretty penny to do so :D

Wow! that was amazing Duke. I was disappointed when the video stopped short of showing how he changed the bulb. He must have some kind of harness to let him go hands free for the repair. I wanted to see him go back down too. These towers need a small hydraulic elevator or something. Those grab handles didn't look like much to hook onto, and the clasp could easily slip off. I was ok until he climbed onto just the pole without the scaffolding. What happens if he got tired and couldn't make it up or down. There is no place for him to rest. I wonder if he is equipped with a repel line or something in case of an emergency. I actually caught myself holding my breath near the end. I heard him swear twice but he didn't say what the problem was. I couldn't climb 2000 stairs let alone straight up on a pole. I don't know how they even prepare for this? I cannot imagine what the first time was like for this guy.

That was a hard video for me to watch, especially when his head went side to side.

" How many people does it take to change a light bulb ? "

I wonder if they get applicants for the job from those who like to hang glide, jump off cliff gliders, etc.

If so they would be smart to be wearing their gear or at least a parachute.

i saw a video a couple years ago on someone who did this, he got paid 20,000 per bulb......
That's not bad money. I wonder how often a bulb needs to be changed. For that kind of paycheck I might be willing to do one bulb per week for 18-24 months then retire. That high up the big danger is going to be the bone chilling wind blowing at 100 mph.

I think the harder job would have been the guys who built that tower to begin with.
