WHAT WERE/ARE YOUR FAVORITE MAGAZINES? WHAT GLOSSY COVER GOT YOUR ATTENTION AT THE STANDS IN THE PAST? HOW ABOUT NOW? MOST ARE ONLINE...STILL READ THEM?
Speaking for the girls here, it was Cosmo and Redbook in my life. With the delightful dash of TV Guide and the occasional not a magazine but juicy Enquirer.
Not a magazine but just as equally as fascinating to me were DC Superman comics when I was a teen. I collected every issue for every title they had (there were four per month I believe) for about a year or two. Still have a few of them.
As a kid, Young Miss. As a teen and beyond, Seventeen mag, Cosmopolitan, Glamour, then later on New Yorker, National Geographic, Horoscope (Dell) and Fate. Now I read Mother Jones once in a while on line.
Most read magazine was definitely TV Guide, read that weekly for at least 25 years. I loved National Lampoon. Most of the magazines I've read in my life have been about either aviation/military history or college football. Many of them are no longer published. While I was still working I read AW&ST, Air Forces Weekly, and the US Naval Institute's Proceedings faithfully, but dropped them within a few years after retiring. I'm down to two magazines now, FlyPast and Britain at War, both electronically.
