Listener or Talker?

Unless I am giving a speech (which seems to be often), I prefer to listen carefully, then comment. I have been told that's why people listen to my counsel.

Active listening, a much under used skill. Too many people are too busy thinking about how they intend to respond than actually listening.
 
By nature I’m a talker so I have had to work on being a good listener. At this age I’m pretty good with controlling my mouth. However if we get on a fun subject I might have to reel myself in :D
 
I am definitely NOT a talker, but am a good listener. A good listener is a skill which I had to learn. Listening shows interest and respect, in my opinion.
