In early May and for the first time in history, over 300 Christian Church's stretching across the globe joined together to sing The Blessing from and over almost every country in the world... In early June, States across America joined, and added hundreds more voices - in a little less then a month thousands of individual voices joined as One in a common cause - uplifting their fellow man - That is Powerful and Beautiful. That is Unity and Love. There is the Path that leads to the defeat of this virus and the hateful energies that surround it. So I follow this Path humbly and with love of The Children and a lightened heart - as I bring the voice's of my state to sing The Blessing over this forum - THIS is the future of America and Humanity. United as One Voice. Never doubt it.

THE ARKANSAS BLESSING

Wow that is beautiful Donna. Very moving. It brings this scripture to mind:

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 2nd Chronicles

When I posted this it was my intention to return as soon as I said goodbye to Stacy and finish it... so maybe 15 minutes... The Road to Hell is indeed paved with good intentions... and I did NOT make it back. Without the rest of what I wanted to say the post became a rather classless and snarky thing which turned a good intention to a bad joke ---- and I sincerely apologize for that... to you and to her. :pensive:

I was going to tell you that Stacy was my stress release the guns hers. I am disallowed the weapons of men. The Wars of men are fought with the weapons of men. Spiritual wars are fought with Spiritual weapons. I had to make a choice. I have a 410 which is allowed for hunting... but only if there is great need - and that need is not mine. It is kept close but not within my house.

Stacy's battle will be on the physical plain and she has trained all these years to make sure she is ready. Again, the need can not be hers, but others.

We are not often together - for safety reasons.. This was the first visit here - in 2 years. And as always, she brought a mason jar which also comes from the deep bayou, and contains the a liquid that smells faintly of peaches and wild nature. She brings two small baby food jars and fills them half full... which is more than enough to set the post in a giggly way... In the only defense I have.

She holds no political ideology. And generally I don't either. That to is frowned upon.

The post came to be at all because she wanted to meet you all.

She is one of only two that know about you at all (through me) and the one who will reach Debi if anything happens to me.

She is a child of the deep bayous of Louisiana. Cajun. Her mother was a Voodoo Priestess, her father a means to a child, and there is no tie there. She refused her right to follow her mother as Priestess... and left the bayou, as is the law in this matter. She spent several months traveling in a vague direction following an even vaguer call. I was never a natural teacher, but we spent a year together... one morning, when I woke she was standing by the door with her backpack waiting to say goodbye. The voice called her on, she said. When I objected and voiced a thousand concerns, she stepped forward and embraced me - then told me, "you have given me everything I need. I am ready."

And she was.

So these words are the rest of where the post was heading.
A beautiful testament to your friend. God bless you both.

Covid and the riots are changing the downtown landscape.
Mega companies are not renewing leases, as people work from home.

After 9/11, many changes happened and never went back to what was. I think this is another time when we see major changes take place. The Wheel has turned once again.

I agree about 9/11. My town was changed beyond belief, when a lot of NYC businesses "temporarily" relocated here, and then stayed. We became a bedroom community for New Yorkers, and real estate values skyrocketed. Other things changed too.

My White Sox buddy works from home for the past 3 years. Salesman for a chemical company. (He's there to help the kids with online school last spring). Seems to think his situation may become the norm.

Big financial firms in Chicago are leaving. Macy's are leaving The Water Tower (upscale shopping mall in the sky.) Cops are quitting in droves, moving companies are swamped.

Young people aren't buying in. If you went to a Big Ten school, it was almost automatic that you signed on for a job with a big company in Chicago. Lived near North side,.... bars cater to Wolverines, Hoosiers, Fightin Illini....
Well, that bloom fell off the rose for them, too.
Add a mayor totally out of her league.
I guess the point is that a corrupt city and state can exist, but not long with covid and riots. People get fed up. They figure out their houses are upside down from property taxes and they can't sell them. And they are not even waiting it out.

Chicago was a mess before Covid arrived. Now it's a dying city. As are many of the big ones out there right now. My Peoria son has also found himself working from home possibly for the foreseeable future. He made himself a nice little office and has done well with working from there even with kids and dogs involved.

What we're seeing now is a huge shift in the college towns. We have a small college here in town and boy, have things changed there.

The unfunded pensions are what's killing the state and the City. It's a game of rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic. Mayor Daley obviously loved Chicago, and made enough Shady deals that were shrugged of ......but he loves the city... Sox... and he played the financial shell game to keep the pensions solvent.
Rham was alot of things, but he was enough of a grown-up to keep things fiscally solvent.
Not this one

Today I saw something that I absolutely could not believe.

I was shopping at a local grocery store and witnessed an employee go over to the refrigerated drinks section. He opened the door, picked up a gallon of iced tea, took off the top, and had a swig out of the bottle. He then replaced the top and put the beverage back in the refrigerator!
