Kinda Creepy...

I agree Duke abandoned old towns do have that standing sadness about them. I can't think of any place that really stands out at the moment. Antique shops bother me. I don't know if I am picking up the vibes from old things or if it is the sadness of lives lived and gone. It is a reminder of passing time and the inevitable moving on that we all must do. When I was young, I liked them but as I have aged it brings things too close to home, I guess.
I feel that way in thrift shops, too. Once, I saw a pair of bronzed baby shoes and it reminded me of how swiftly time passes. Then, I wondered why someone had donated them; they wouldn't mean anything to anyone, but the parent of the baby who once wore those shoes!

Not counting a home you lived in that might have been haunted, I ask you this:

Working in a nursing home in Brisbane, Two of us were doing paperwork in the Nurses station.
We had full view of a long corridor where individual rooms branched off.
I noticed the house cats, one at each end of the hallway, staring at something. It seemed to be moving because we saw the intensity of the cats gaze move, The closest cat moved it's head watching whatever it was, and it was coming for the nurses station
I pointed this out to my co worker , she quickly shoved me out of the way!
I felt as if an iceberg had just passed through my right side, I felt like an adrenaline rush with the flight response and the hair on my arms stood up.
My co worker was similarly affected, her normally well groomed hair looking like she had been in front of massive fan.
I can understand a few languages, i never thought I could learn another vocabulary from someone so prim and proper!
