Earth has been hit by a major solar flare, causing the current KP index to rise to 8. This increase in activity means that the Northern Lights (Aurora) “Could” be seen as far south as Texas and the Gulf Coast if things hold.
Similar activity occurred about a month ago (as we all remember), though it’s important to note it’s uncertain how long this particular flare will remain visible for our US viewing.
If the weather permits and your skies are clear tonight, it is highly recommended to keep an eye out for this spectacular event.
