Hello everyone,
I will start off by saying I have a video of the occurrences that happened tonight and I hope you believe me(because I have a hard time believing myself) that this happened. Scroll to the bottom for the videos.
This post will be a very lengthy post. Just a heads up.
I want to start out by saying I am new here. My name is Jake and I am 22 years old.
A little about myself: I am currently residing in a small town in Ohio, myself and my current roommate moved down here from Michigan to attend a Police Academy in late October 2018. We live in an upper apartment with two rooms, a single bathroom, and a open kitchen with a large living room. We have security cameras set up surrounding the entirety of the apartment.
This apartment is located directly above a moving buisness that stages homes for the elderly(more on the significance of this later).
My roommate and I both did not believe in the supernatural until tonight.
It all started tonight at approximently 8:52PM while me and my roomate(we will refer to him as flintoff) were at school. Flintoff explained to me that one of the security cameras in the corner closest to my bedroom had just detected movement. This is not normal because it requires a physical object for the camera to track to notify us. Upon looking at the tracking, we saw a flash of light go from the bottom of the frame towards the ceiling in a rapid motion. We ignored it and pushed it off as a glitch in the camera.
After we got out of school I came home, opened the door, and instantly felt not normal. A thickness in the air. Something was off. I had already planned to check the area that we saw the occurence at so I did. I found nothing to suggest anything had happened.
I got dressed, turned the lights off, and headed to the bar for a couple drinks. My roommate had not been home yet and met me at the bar.
This is where things get crazy.
After getting home I went into my room and was doing some work on the computer. My roommate was in his room watching TV.
Flintoff messaged me on Facebook and said that the camera on the opposite side of the living room detected movement an hour ago.
The video he sent me made me believe in the supernatural.
We have a chair in the living room that sat directly out of site of the camera that detected movement, the chair has rubber anti slide pads so moving it would be difficult as it would fall over if pushed with force. The video captures the chair being forcefully pushed towards the door of my room(over 12 feet) in the matter of 2 seconds, before abruptly stopping in its tracks.
I thought my roommate was playing a joke on me, but sure enough he had been in his room the entire time. The chair left trail marks on the wooden floor suggesting that the chair had some kind of force or energy sitting in it when it slid.
As we sat there contemplating what happened, the room was cold and the air was thick. Yet the thermostat was set at 67. My hands were ice cold even though I had no reason to be cold.
At this point I decided to call my Mom. My Mom has always told me that she has a "gift" I always thought she was crazy until tonight.
I explained what had happened and sent her the video of the chair. On facetime she visibly became upset and disturbed by the video. Something was off and she knew it. I know my Mom, and I can tell you that what she was feeling was real, despite what previous things I had believed about her abilities. She asked me to stand in the corner of the room and survey the room at a very slow pace so she could try and "feel the energy".
She claimed that she had a very overall uneasyness about the room, but specifically the closet next to the bathroom door. She claimed whatever "was there" was very upset and angry. She claimed that it was sad. She got so upset that she started crying. She explained that whatever it was wanted my attention, and that it wasn't there to hurt me. She explained that it was an older gentleman that appeared to have sandy colored straight hair, with a tall build, but appeared to be malnourished.
Me and my roommate sat down on ottoman in the living room at this time to try and let her relax. She stated that she felt something about a "basement" and asked if we had a basement below the building foundation, which we do not.
This is where the downstairs buisness comes into play:
I worked for the business below me moving furniture for the elderly. One day about 3 months ago we had a job at 10 Wilmington Place(Formally Dayton State Hospital for the mentally insane). This job required me to go to the BASEMENT to get staging furniture for the rooms. If you read into Dayton State Hopsital you will find that the basement is where many of the abuse and cremations happened at the hospital. It is basically a 25,000 sq ft basement which still has the original foundation of brick.
My mom never knew of this place. Or knew that I had been there prior to asking about the basement she got a "reading" on. I told her about the basement at 10 Wilmington, and she immediately became pale. She knew that whatever in our house tonight came from there. Dont ask me how, but I could tell she knew, as well as my roomate.
At this time she asked to be put on speaker phone and told me that she was going to say a few things. She started off by stating the my roommate, herself, and I were not there to harm it, and that she simply wanted to talk. She claimed that It needed to go to "that amazing light", this is when my bedroom door(which occasionally sways a little with the small draft of my ceiling fan) began to move noticeably more than it ever has. My roommates TV volume got noticeably louder, and the lights flickered one time.
And suddenly the room became peaceful. Like nothing had just happened. It felt like it did when we first moved in. My roomate is the one who told me he felt that way, so I knew I wasn't crazy.
My Mom stated that whatever was there was now gone, and I whole heartedly believed that.
I write this post in disbelief because I feel crazy. Its upsetting to me because I know I am perfectly sane, but I am unable to logically explain what happened tonight. I come to these forums for some kind of reassurance.
Thanks for reading.
Video of original movement that occurred earlier in the night, you will see a quick flash of "light" in the far left corner:
EDIT:
My roomate noticed that the camera across the room detected some kind of motion a few seconds before the chair moved. But nothing is there in the photo, and the chair is still very much in place. This specific camera is set to take a picture at the time the movement initiated but did not trigger the video like it was supposed to.
Video of chair moving, the light in the corner is the other camera that detected motion earlier emitting IR, and you can see the light of my room peaking through my door where I was at when this happened. Notice how unusual the chair moves and then turns a little before stopping abruptly.
