Hello. I've been wondering how to get in contact with God if he/she exists. I wanted to get some help. I figured I would summon some spirits or aliens, but I read some posts here about summoning, and they said I shouldn't do it. So I won't. I don't believe in God (or aliens or spirits), but I wanted to see if I could communicate somehow. The problem is, weird things happen---like coincidences---but I can't tell if I'm psychotic or hearing communications from God or aliens or spirits. Can you tell me some ways spirits or God communicates with you? Do you pray or meditate, or just talk? I need to get some help from them, but they won't prove they exist, and I'm left feeling psychotic.

Usually happens in my dreams. Met some very unsavoury types that way actually.

You can pray by talking, being still and "listening" for the great spirit, or just be alone and let your emotions out into the universe. Not to get too religious, but because were talking about prayer I'll share this with you.

Psalms 56:8 (ESV)
"You have kept count of my tossings; put my tears in your bottle. Are they not in your book?"

In a way this implies our tears or strong emotions in general are a cathartic form of prayer.

As for summoning, that refers to commanding a person or spirit to come at once. You cannot summon an angel or God for the simple fact that angels only answer to God and God answers to nobody.

Yeah, the idea of someone "summoning" the Almighty struck me as a bit pretentious.

If you don't believe, it is difficult to understand how you intend to communicate with something you don't believe in to begin with.

Reading your overall post, my impression is you are wanting hard proof before you will believe. This reminds me of my mom who used to say she'd believe when Angels did skywriting messages in the clouds. Phil, if you are looking for that kind of proof, you will not find it.

Finding the Divine is a journey....it doesn't come with a map or hard proof. It comes with faith you will find your own path and answers. It comes from studying the different Holy writings of different faiths, and listening to the inner voice. It comes with an open heart and mind to all the possibilities. The "proof" you are looking for is not currently able to be measured with scientific instruments But it's there if you look, feel, and have faith in the fact somebody/something is in control of everything.

Beautiful stated Debi.

Years ago my kids mum was diagnosed with bowel cancer at a young age.I don't follow any religion but have always been very spiritual.I was distraught with the news and reached out to God,(to be honest as a last resort) .I prayed for her to be well and said to God to take me instead.I heard a voice that sounded like thunder say"thats a very noble thing to do".A week later at the specialist they were amazed to find no trace of the tumour and she made a full recovery. Its an amazing but true account, but for religious people maybe not so surprising.

Thank you for sharing that, Oz. I am not surprised, but very pleased you were answered.

I wouldn't say I summonsed God, in fact I felt like a tiny spec when I asked for help, but at the same time felt important to God at that moment.I'm starting to sound religious, but I think my unconditional love for the women(its sounds strange but I felt that way) may have been the reason I was answered.
