This is indeed where science and religion differ. Science requires proof, religious belief requires faith. Scientists don't try to prove or disprove God's existence because they know there isn't an experiment that can ever detect God. And if you believe in God, it doesn't matter what scientists discover about the Universe – any cosmos can be thought of as being consistent with God.

Never has such a true word been said. Similar could be said for the paranormal as far as the views of sceptics and believers are related........

if science cannot prove the soul exists within our own familiar makeup then it will never prove the existence of a being beyond our makeup. we only know, what we actually have (can see, touch etc...), everything else is just a theory, but if we can prove the soul is real, then that in itself is a sign ( or a lead ) that God is real.
