My wife does the fast type cooking like fried foods and such and I like to cook the things that cook for a long time. I like to make soups and stews and smothered something that I get to mess with a lot. I like soup to cook for 6 hours or so and don't put everything in at the same time. I like to do the slicing and dicing and so do that for my wife while she cooks.

I love to make a big busy pot of soup that may have three different types of meat and seven or more types of vegetables in a beef broth and tomato base. We also make a lot of seafood and chicken gumbo and stews. The soups are served with cornbread, The stew is served with heavy Italian bread and the gumbo is served with garlic crunchy bites. The crunchy bites are made by heavily buttering pieces of white bread and then putting a fairly heavy dusting of garlic power on them. You then cut the pieces into 4 squares and put them in the oven on a cookie sheet. You cook them low and slow and make what is basically a big crouton.

Pairing socks in a household of 5 is hands-down my least favorite household chore to do. I'll put away all others clothes but when it comes to socks, I just want to throw in the towel lol. I am lucky enough and out of my 3 kiddos, I ended up with 1 that absolutely loves to clean and organize (my oldest son who's 14, almost 15) so I consider myself super lucky. I never have to ask him to help with a particular chore, the only thing is he loves to stir up his younger sister and brother and likes to tell them what/when to clean...which can be a whole other issue.

Socks have a way of disappearing. How is it possible we will get a basket of socks and only a couple pairs. Hangers on the other Jad seem to multiply.

I've found that missing socks sometimes eject themselves when you go to put on a long-sleeve shirt or pair of pants. Of course by then, the mate is MIA.
Yea it is the sock way of life. Hence the phrase “sock it to ya” lol.
