A Guild A 20 Marley edition! Now to save some cash so the wife doesn't beat me with it...lol! I've spent alot lately so I can't blame her.

I love those hollow body electrics. The sound quality is on another level.

I feel the same way about hollow body electric basses. I loved the Vox teardrop bass, nothing sounded quite like that.

I did a little digging last night and found out that it was 1 of the guitars he used. Sounds like it was his sitting around the house coming up with songs. The other acoustic he used was way way outta my price range!
My wife has forbidden electric guitars for me...lol!

If there is concern about the volume level they do have headphone setups. I used to have a small Pignose amp that let me plug in headphones so my playing wouldn't bother anyone. I'm sure the 30+ years since then has made these setups much better. Probably wireless Bluetooth with some sort of phone app.

Its more she's afraid I'd learn stuff like
..kick start my heart.... and turn the volume all the way up!

you could try pawn shops, they always have acoustics for sale. ive found numerous fenders at them for a much better price. if you do decide to give it a try get a good set of nylon strings to begin with. at least for the first few weeks.... much easier on the fingers until they toughen up a little.

I agree nylon will be much easier on your fingers. You want to hurry learning and then fingers become tender. Easiest to play is a 12 string but more work to tune. Finally had to give it up because the finger tips begin to hurt.

Back when I was in high school got me a used older type hollow body electric guitar. Loved the heck out playing it, especially when hooked up to an amplifier. Wish now I'd kept it, probably worth a fortune today.

OK… Here’s a couple of videos of me playing I never ever ever hardly make mistakes except when I’m freaking trying to film myself I just can’t concentrate. I did about eight takes with a 5150 guitar in about seven with the blue guitar playing some blues. You can hear my heavy sigh at the beginning of the blues won because I was just so sick of doing take after take after take. My wife walked in the room at the very end of it, and it just shattered my concentration. And yes, my fingerboard is grimy from 14 years of playing....I like it like that.
The 5150 video is me just messing around playing a little bit of Van Halen even though I don’t really play in the style of Van Halen that much but I did some little hammer ons for you guys just for the hell of it. I couldn’t get all my loud squeals to come out for some reason I’m gonna do another video later.

I promise you guys I play so much better than what you’re seeing here, I apologize seriously… this is garbage.

Thank you…You can! It’s just practice, practice! Getting to this point, my favorite way of practicing was to turn on a tv show or movie with the volume off, sit in my rocking chair and just play.
