Getting to know you....

Appreciate the welcome posts Vibe and Armand. You guys shared some great biographies.

As for the spiders - NOOOOO! I have a horribly deep case of arachnophobia. Super interesting (to me at least) is that while I was studying Wicca my fear responses towards spiders totally went away. I didn’t recognize it until attending a family holiday party, I walked up to take a seat next to my adult niece under a patio cover and saw a spider hanging from a web directly over that chair. I reached out and pinched the web off just a few inches above the spider and gently set him down on the ground. My niece just about fell out of her seat. I asked her, “Whatttt?” She reminded me I hate spiders. Oh, right. After that I found that I had a new psychic connection to spiders - no shit. Fear was gone too. I could very often tell when a spider was within my area even without seeing them - they could even be hidden and I’d find them. I quite seriously could feel their presence - I didn’t have to see them not even in my peripheral vision. However since ending my official Wiccan studies my fears have come back. Now I know when there is a spider around and then I get freaked out! :(.

I like the “...in-between heartbeats...” quote Armand. My friends tell me I have zero rhythm - I can’t dance, I take double the number of steps as all other participants in aerobic classes, and after years (YEARS) of music lessons, I can’t play a song right. However, I have a seriously strong sense of syncopation - I can’t hear the beat but I can hear the emptiness between the beats. As I mentioned in another thread, it is in-between conscious thoughts that I receive most of my waking psychic messages. That said, i’d Like to remind you to take notice of what you “hear” or think in-between the noise. You may find your next big adventure waiting to be revealed to you there.

And Armand, if you like the outdoors, California is a great place to live. Lots of great weather year round and almost every kind of terrain you can image - salt and fresh water sports, mountains, forests, deserts, snow, etc. I lived most of my life there.

Hi all and welcome to our newer members :) . I'm Vibe-Feeler, or just Vibe if you want, I'm 24 and from South Africa (and as far as I know the only African member). I've been experiencing paranormal events around me since I was 10, and I'm particularly sensitive to presences, and I'm busy working on trying to better understand the paranormal. Favorite fields of interest I would say are hauntings and demonology. I'm always keen to help members out here with paranormal experiences where I can, I have my fair share of knowledge but I'm still learning a lot from the other members.

I'm big into computer gaming, use to play a lot online and even went on to play competitively for a while before starting university. But I also love to travel and explore, and enjoy going out with friends and occasionally family, love playing sports like field hockey, golf, pool/snooker and tennis. I'm also a huge animal lover and try help make my home as animal friendly as possible, which has attracted a lot of wildlife like hares, meerkat, exotic birds, snakes and unfortunately a wide variety of spiders lol.

My studies started off with a degree in I.T. and then got my honors in computer science, focusing mainly on cyber security. I currently work as an endpoint protection engineer and a malware researcher, so you will see when there's a massive outbreak (usually ransomware) I post a write-up of it on the News/Open Lines realm. While I just started working, I'm slowly being groomed to be a pen-tester which is basically a making a living of legally hacking companies and reporting on how I did it and how they can fix their vulnerabilities. But yea, I'm really into the cyber security world (recently created a fandom wiki website you can visit).

I also enjoy programming and writing scripts. I'm currently writing basic malware to try understand how they work so that I can determine how to prevent/combat the real threats out there. I have currently created a basic ransomware, some irritating viruses that spam the computer with applications that open continuously until the computer crashes, or floods the computer with thousands of text files, or disabled the mouse and keyboard functions, and a Trojan pretending to be an installation file from Adobe but when run puts the computer into sleep mode. It's fun to see people's reactions when they run these files though lol.

As for home, I live in the country side with my folks and girlfriend, we have 6 dogs, 2 or 3 stray cats, about 50 guinea fowl and 3 rogue rabbits. As we approach the summer this side, the risk of rinkhals is quite high, so that keeps things interesting lol. I know I have posted a picture or two of it on here somewhere. Often on weekends I enjoy having a braai (which is a South African version of a BBQ), or shooting bottles/cans with the air rifle/pistol. Hoping to add an air revolver to my collection soon :D .

So yea, that's me in a nutshell, I look forward to reading about those who post to this thread and enjoyed reading about those who have already posted :) .

Um Vibe, are you living inside my home network’s router?

That's the one that was in the house. And funny thing is today we spotted one just outside the bedrooms.

OMG you have got to be kidding. How long is that thing? How venomous are these little gifts from God??
That one was about 1.5m (roughly 5ft) and they are very venomous. One bite can kill quite quickly and they can also spit, usually aiming at the eyes with incredible accuracy.

To my knowledge, you are the only active member from Africa. But please, keep those snakes over with you!

I'm a bit of mystery around here. I've been here since the beginning, I just have trouble "opening up". I studied nautical archaeology and was an archaeologist a long time ago. T-Bob is also an archaeologist. The odds of two of us being on here must be astronomical! LOL! I have also been a business instructor, a software specialist, had my own business, and a few other strange jobs along the way. Currently, I am a Diversity Officer in the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary.

I have had minimal paranormal or unexplained experiences. I'm somewhat of a skeptic on some of the topics, but always try to keep an open mind. My favorite topics are probably Ufology and Cryptozoology.

I have two Whippets and a cat. One of the Whippets I just got as a rescue, and I am working on introducing him to the other two. Needless to say, the cat is NOT amused with the new house guest!:screamcat::screamcat:

I enjoy RVing, photography, watches, coin collecting, fountain pens, antique razors, and a few other hobbies I am probably forgetting. :D

That's SOME of me in a nutshell. Most of the other stuff is top secret and only Debi knows! :p
You left out flash lights !

Hi gang. I’m Lynne and am a 57 year old retired youth Specialist. I live in a small town in MI. My hobbies are riding horses and knitting. I too have a love animals and I live on my own petting farm with many pets.
My interest in the Paranormal comes from following Artbell and years of his coast to coast show. I myself have no obvious psysic abilities but I seem to be surrounded by those who do. My husband and daughter have had expierences along with other family members.
This forum has become a real joy to me and it feels like family here. I might add that Debi pays for this forum totally on her own dime. You don’t even see adds here. So the occasional donation is appreciated to help keep the lights on. She is too modest to say much. She has rescued most of us and has given us a place to call home.

Welcome to the family guys. It will be fun getting to know you all.
