Some of the most significant victories of WWII resulted at least in part by the Allies' ability to break Axis codes. In many cases it was more of a challenge to not let the Axis know we'd broken their codes than acting on the intelligence gained. Conversely, there were cases where the difficult decision of no action was made to protect Enigma/Magic. Sadly such decisions resulted in lives lost.
