We just had a story about the runaway pet Zebra in Tennessee, and I recently watched a report showing several policemen catch a pet Kangaroo on the loose. We also just heard about K9's Ziggy being a hero and saving the house from a fire!

Granted, these pets have unusual stories, but I know many of you have pets that may do some funny and/or unusual and amusing things! So it's time to share! Old or new stories, all are welcome!

I'll start you with the tale of my Joy (cat) who recently was so intent on getting the birdie in the window that she forgot the window was closed and almost knocked herself out in her pursuit of the enemy Blue Jay. She was briefly stunned, then stood up (wobbling) and tried to storm off...dignified it was not. Pretty sure there was a headache involved. And the Blue Jay happily grabbed his prize of a shelled peanut and flew away laughing.

My whippet never makes a sound until she wants something, her coat on, a snack or just a pat. She then makes these weird noises like she's trying to talk. Funny thing is I'm starting to understand the yodels and growls, she's taught me well, lol.

Our Shetland Sheepdog was on the small side, that's why the breeder was willing to sell because the dog was too small to show. The dog loved snow, she didn't care how cold it was. If there was snow outside, that's where she wanted to be.

When we'd get alot of snow, 10 inches or more, she'd sort of burrow through the snow. You'd look out the window, and because she was so small, all you'd see was her black nose tip just above the snow as she tunneled through it. Looked like a submarine periscope. She also liked me to throw snowballs at her....as long as I missed.

We were visiting friends who had a small 'yipper' dog; not sure what kind it was. They put the dog on the enclosed back porch because he would get too excited when there was company over. The dog was upset at being excluded and started barking and clawing at the door to get back in.
The back door had a window. While we were sitting within view of it, periodically this dog would jump up. It looked so funny to see the tiny pup go airborne with an accompanying "yip-yip," and then disappear again over and over.

The funniest one I remember is finding one of my horses in an impossible spot. I came out to feed one morning to find one had somehow gotten into the fenced off hay storage area of the barn. He had let himself out of the stall, got inside the main barn area and then jumped the fence where the hay was stored. Now there was only a space about six by 6 feet square open to stand in because we had just stacked it all nice and neat. He was standing in that small area. There was no way to get him out but to take the fence down and move bales. I would pay money to see a video on how he did this.

That would have been an interesting video!

I remember when an annoying salesman had come to our door and my mother was insisting that she wasn't interested in whatever he was selling, and he kept insisting that she was

We had a Burmese cat who liked to hide on the shelf in the coat closet next to the front door. She suddenly hissed and jumped on the salesman's head, startling my mother and the poor guy. He took off!
