A spooky piece of home decor recently popped up at a second-hand shop in North Carolina: an allegedly haunted dresser. The odd item can be found at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore in the city of Salisbury. On a Facebook post showcasing the dresser, the shop first noted that the ornate-looking piece was hand carved in the 1950s and is part of a two piece set which includes a canopy bed. However, it's the 'warning' that accompanies the furniture that caught the attention of prospective shoppers.

According to the store, the previous owner of the set informed them that the dresser apparently comes with a spirit of some kind. The shop's notice explains that the unnamed man reported "continuous nightmares for he and his wife while it was in their room." Additionally, it would appear that the couple were not alone in being tormented by whatever sinister energy was attached to the piece as the former owner also claimed that "the dogs would not stop barking" at the dresser.

While skeptics may contend that the story is merely some clever marketing on the part of the second-hand store, we're inclined to give the shop the benefit of the doubt. That may, admittedly, be in part because it would be terribly disappointing if the wildly amusing scenario of a harried furniture owner frantically getting rid of his haunted bedroom set were not true. Regardless, it would seem that, as of now, the possessed dresser is still on the market and could be yours for a mere $1,000. Should one wind up buying the item, we've got the perfect piece to pair it with: the legendary 'haunted' couch of Waco, Texas.

My cousin inherited some furniture off our grandma with the condition that he looked after it.We bought an old farm together with an old small house. When we were moving in we realised we had too much stuff. An old wardrobe of grandma's just had nowhere to sit so we decided to use it for firewood that night. As we were going to sleep that night I felt a pressure on my head like a hand pushing it down, fairly hard.Next thing my cousin came screaming in to my room with the same story, terrified. The next morning we both apologised to granny's spirit about the wardrobe and never had this happen again. That was my quiet granny, the other one wouldn't have been that subtle.

I've had a mirror and a lamp. Both items had some really strange stuff attached to them. The lamp was my mother in law's, and it stayed in her haunted house when we sold it! I was NOT bringing that thing with me to the new house! NOPE! I lived with it and her for several years. Wasn't taking any chances!

I have a habitat for humanity right down the road they sell some nice old stuff i got a few things from there and it apears the stuff they get is donations from ppl and probably things that are disgraded after a loved one dies you can tell they are from different era's so I could see how some of the things might have been very important to the original owners like i have seen some very nice old china cabinets there for dirt cheap these things would cost over 1000 usd easy when brand new but you can get one there for like 50 bucks.. kind of makes you wonder why they are so cheap.

Well, to tell you the truth a home to me doesnt seem like home without one i dont have one I am a man but I just always think of the way the house is suppose to look as opose to the way it looks now i gues im tryin to say the paper plates and plastic cups are a sign of not stopping to be thankful for what you have and always in a hurry to get to the next thing life has to throw at us,
