This is a great History Channel series on American foods. They usually cover two related foods/restaurants per episode. They show 3-4 episodes on Sunday night, 2-3 reruns and a new episode. It's become one of my favorite shoes.

Fried mouse bits might work. Something along the lines of popcorn chicken. If they are golden brown and crunchy they could be called "Mice Crispies".
