Favorite cooking appliance

I was in love with my air fryer until one day it started smoking crazily despite me cleaning it. It set off a wired in smoke alarm in my new place that almost deafened me and the dogs were screaming. It affected me that much I put the fryer away and haven't used it in 6 months. Love can be fickle in the appliance realm, lol.
That's the point people unhook their smoke detectors ugh. Something similar happened to my toaster oven that i used to use quite often.

Oh Wüsthof are great knives. I can see why he was so particular about them. I've got a nice set of Henkel knives that have served me well.

I used to have a nice cast iron skillet. Then I had to go out of town for a bit and my wife used it. When she was done she didn't know how to clean it and filled it with soapy water to let it soak over night. So now it was all rusty which she figured it was ruined and threw it away.
Oh losing a good skillet is painful. Maybe there was a way to clean it.

My favorite one is probably the air fryer. I love warming things up without them getting soggy. The one I use the most though is the crockpot. I like the ease of an entire dinner in one pot that I can eat later.

I got my wife some very nice kitchen knives. She hated them so I got her a wusthof set. Still very nice knives just not what I wanted. She has basically destroyed them! So im glad she didnt like the other ones i had originally got!
One day ill have the kitchen knives i dream of and the wife cant touch them!
Im pretty fond of my Blackstone. I do miss my stove from my NY house! It was a viking? Or something? It was amazing!

One of the great things about cast iron is its resilience. Even it the pan gets completely rusted it can be ground and sanded, cleaned up and re-seasoned then its good as new.
I still regret not knowing that, back when I bought my first set of cast iron pans. I threw them out because of the rusting issue. Live and learn, I guess!

We've got many members who love cooking here at the PNF!
What are your favorite appliances to help with your cooking?
Rice cookers?
Crockpots?
Air Fryers?
Grills?
Any special type of knives, cooking ware? My late hubs always loved his Wusthof knives. Wouldn't cook with anything else!
What helps you be a better "chef" and what would you recommend to others?
I absolutely cannot live without my bread maker! I have bake my own bread daily for the last 35 years. Sure I have other appliances which I have a fondness for but the breadmaker is my love. Incidentally I am on my second machine now, sorry to see the old one go but the new one is sooo goood.
