We've got many members who love cooking here at the PNF!
What are your favorite appliances to help with your cooking?
Rice cookers?
Crockpots?
Air Fryers?
Grills?
Any special type of knives, cooking ware? My late hubs always loved his Wusthof knives. Wouldn't cook with anything else!
What helps you be a better "chef" and what would you recommend to others?

Oh Wüsthof are great knives. I can see why he was so particular about them. I've got a nice set of Henkel knives that have served me well.

I used to have a nice cast iron skillet. Then I had to go out of town for a bit and my wife used it. When she was done she didn't know how to clean it and filled it with soapy water to let it soak over night. So now it was all rusty which she figured it was ruined and threw it away.

Not sure I'd say "favorite," but certainly our air fryer is our most versatile kitchen appliance. Mrs Duke is consistently finding new uses for what I thought was a glorified toaster oven.

Lol, I made that same mistake with a brand new set of cast iron cookware! I know much better now. I love using a cast iron skillet for baking cornbread in.

Mr. Garnet loves our air fryer, too. I like any appliance that saves time! Back when rice was eaten a lot, I adored our rice cooker; perfect rice every time, like the commercial says!

The mention of cast iron skillets brings back memories of watching my Grandpa "seasoning" their skillets with lard in a coal burning cook stove. This would have been in the mid 60s, and those skillets were probably at least fifty years old then. Pretty sure a few of those are still in the family.

I was in love with my air fryer until one day it started smoking crazily despite me cleaning it. It set off a wired in smoke alarm in my new place that almost deafened me and the dogs were screaming. It affected me that much I put the fryer away and haven't used it in 6 months. Love can be fickle in the appliance realm, lol.
