"Exit" Points

Same here. It seemed to last quite a bit longer than it should have. I think when we are in danger our brain speeds up.
I can think of other times I was in danger where I seemed to have an internal discussion about what was happening even though that should have been impossible. Bless adrenaline!

I'm finding a few references out there on the topic. I shall try and gather them together tomorrow and add them here on this thread. I know one of the psychics of old discussed this at some point. Trying to nail down which ones.

OK, found a few references. First, Ruth Montgomery and Sylvia Brown both spoke of exit points.

How many exit points do you have in Your Life?
  • Sylvia Browne says we all have five exit points in our life. Sylvia likes to be precise like that. I believe the number of exit points we plan varies upon our past life experiences, the difficulty of the life we’re planning, our comfort level with incarnation etc.

Also, there is a group called The Divine Fellowship that speaks about it as well from a Christian viewpoint.

Still digging, as I think there is also a Buddhist perspective on this.

I look forward to it!
yes indeed, that would be interesting to know. but if it has any connection to the phrase "only the good die young" you may have to look way back, back before ancient greece and the tale of the two sons........500 b.c or so..... yes the phrase / idea was around long before billy joel...lol.... but why not listen to his version while we wait for more input....

Well, from the sound of your accident, it sounds to me like you had an army of angels making sure you didn't get a choice but to live!

This concept goes waaaay back. I'm trying to research to see where this originated.
I did hear of this in one of Sylvia Brown's books. I had two exit points, where a miracle intervened the first time, and a mere last minute decision saved me the second time.

I have not heard of the exit point theory. I have come close many times to checking out or at the very least getting seriously injured. I've begun to believe we all have a reason for being here and i feel whatever my reason is, i am still fulfilling that or perhaps, i have not done it yet. I guess one day i will know lol.

it may be a little harder to find the Buddhist idea of this, its one of the teachings that isnt discussed much and has been largely forgotten and tossed away by the western versions of eastern teachings..... but basically it is similar to what you have described so far. with the exception that each life is pre-planned, with possible points layed out that can be used to escape once everything from this life is learned. no reason to stick around when you could move on closer to the end of the wheel and be free of all there is that holds you here...... with each life you may actuslly notice a willingness to let go of earthly desires. you may want to live simpler than the last, material things arent as important, family and connections arent as big or arent planned into a life so you wont be held back by these desires..... i dont know all there is to this but i believe those are the basic thoughts...

these "outs", points very often go hand in hand with serious injury/illness, you will rarely be left whole afterward, or at least carry a possible "side affect" of such....
reasons for being here i do believe. we all have a purpose, but i also believe that my purpose could be as simple as just a smile at the right person at just the right time in history, and then nothing more....yeah, im not a big dreamer of heroics of knowingly changeing the world.....lol......(and the person i smile at may not even change the world, she/he may just be a grandparent or great grandparent of the one who's actions are so important.....but that smile may play a big part of that ever happening.....simple things have just as much importance as the major actions in the grand scheme of things.....

Agreed. I doubt whatever i do in life may have a grand effect on things, perhaps a person or two. Who knows. I have met people through life and in some way or another i have and was told i did something to change something with them. That's cool with me. I've met many people that have done the same for me...so pass it forward, right?
