A master once made the statement that a young monk had reached enlightenment, everyone rushed to the monk, asking " is it true??? " " How do you feel?? "... Yes, he replied, and I feel more miserable than ever.
What do you take from this story? What do you think it means? What is your view or idea of being enlightened?

I understands why he feels miserable, It started like 2,5 years ago, and started with a lot of confusion and some kind of dizziness. I think that is the reason he felt miserable, that fase wasn't really a nice experience. and every answer you get raises a dozen others questions. In his case, I think its only the beginning.
My idea of being enlightened, is some kind of evolutionary step. Perhaps this is why it is happening to more humans at this moment. I think it is good possible to reach enlightenment in one lifetime. But it might take ages, before humankind fully reaches enlightenment. I think it is just a step to a higher consciousness, like breaking the cage that is around you wherever you are.

I don't think it is an evolutionary step, or that more ppl are experiencing an awakening, or that humans as a whole will ever reach a level of full enlightenment. I do believe that an individual, with proper guidance can reach it in a lifetime however. You have the common, " romanticized " view of enlightenment that most ppl like to think of. But what if it's not like that at all????, What if being in tune with the world , means seeing it as is, as it truly is.... The suffering, war, death,... Feeling all the pains of ppl, ..... The world, life, is a learning experience. Overcoming the EGO is an individual journey. If you have this interest I would say find a guide, not a teacher, it can't be taught, but a guide who can lead you on the path. And make you see outside the box and accept " what is "..... The letting go of thoughts is as important as the realization itself.

Perhaps, it's just about learning to be more human? Know what you are and learn your place in the universe. And help the specie learn to be more, than it is today. However, I am looking for someone who can give me guidance, so feel free to DM me if you like.

It's not about the species. It's about each individual. I think Paul just gave you a really good place to start with his statement above.

It sounds to me that you have had a spiritual awakening of sorts. You realize that you are not just a body but an eternal spirit. Many people have this happen inside the constructs of a religious belief but perhaps the creator has made you conscious of this on your own. It is not a bad thing to know we are all connected and that life continues on after a physical death. It makes us better people to realize how we should treat others and the environment.

I believe this happens more often within a religion, perhaps because these people are more open to it. but in my case I don't believe in gods, so I think it's strange that this happens to me. (I respect everyone's religion, just to be clear) I’m more the believer in something
