Eerie statues of reptiles in Norway

A good example of someone's talents being wasted on something gross in my opinion. Don't come for me, I know it is art, and not all art is for everyone but that belongs in a building not on open public display. To me that is pornography. The darker meaning it could have is not lost on me either and I am sure that doesn't have to be spelled out for our educated group here.

it seems that todays generation of artists think that art has to be offensive to make a point. and a lot of new graduates of art schools are being tought that way.... i understand that art should invoke or touch on emotion, but some use their talents as a weapon only..to push an agenda or ideals on everyone just because they can...sad when that is the only thing they can do with such skills. they will wake up one day and see the time that was spent and lost on such when beauty could have been used to make the world better......... i dunno, maybe that is just my thoughts. everyones past tells a story of who they are, and they have to come to their own future and make their own mistakes to get there.......... i cant judge them when i know that my past and experiances are what led me to where i am now..and they must do the same....we can only hope they will realize the path they are on and change course to make a differance for the betterment of the world.
there is a dark side to art, always has been, but now it seems to be surfacing stronger than ever, used more and is more in your face than it ever was in the past. the darkness has taken hold and is growing at an alarming rate.

Well said Paul, I agree. Fashion has it full on display. I saw someone do a comparison of the vogue fashions of the 80's and 90's to this year's fashion week runway. The old was beauty and elegance with lovely stylish models, the new was fat ugly defaced models wearing almost nothing. One looked like uncle Fester from the Adams family show. Honestly, he looked like a white skinned pig wrapped in a red rag walking the runway. I don't know what sex I was looking at either. I really think there's evil entities influencing society into defacing itself and making us like it. I cannot for the life of me think anyone would look at that and say, "oh I really need to buy that". Scarier yet is how it will influence the cloths in the stores. To add to this, I just saw Laddy Ga Ga's new tour preview this morning and it looks totally satanic in my opinion. From the color choices to symbolism and costumes. The whole thing looks to appeal to that sect and making it attractive with the beat and music. She is calling it "Mayhem".... appropriate I think. This is a classic example of talent being wasted for nefarious and ugly purposes. I know I may be stepping on some people's opinions but this is just mine for what it's worth.

Those sculptures started in 1907 in the park. Still...... there are always some people that think being weird for the sake of being weird automatically makes it a good thing. Lynne sounds like my Mom ( a good thing) !
