My answer to the fuss of rolling it all up is a bit of deconstruction. SAME flavor, same food. Just unwrapped.

Combine hamburger, eggs, cooled cooked rice, Worcestershire Sauce, salt and pepper and make into 6 to eight meatballs. Cut up cabbage and onion and place on bottom of crockpot. Place Meatballs on top. Pour tomato sauce over the whole thing and cook on low for 4 to 5 hours.

I serve with a side of mashed potatoes. It's a lot less work than wrapping into rolls!

No crockpot? Large roasting pan in oven at 375 for an hour covered...then uncovered for another 15 as needed.

That sounds really nice Debi and feed a few people, would one of the meatballs be enough for a serving?

I usually make meatballs that are about the equal of a quarter pound each, so 8 in a crockpot. With two pounds of hamburger that is easily 8 servings. OR if you have really hungry people, 4 servings if you do two each. Add in the mashed potatoes with the meatballs and cabbage and most people are quite stuffed.

I have made a huge amount for an office party by getting a very large aluminum pan and doing a triple batch in the oven. Just be sure you have a strong pan under that so when you lift it there is no sagging!
