This is a really interesting subject. Could be why separating from someone you have this with hurts so much, physically as well as emotionally and why some people just can't deal with it. It seems to be the same with a wide range of personalities from gentle to hard, rough characters.

I think this is part of the "loss" one feels when someone dies...that connection is suddenly gone.

My youngest son and I often speak with little verbal communication. It's always been like that with this particular child. He's on the autistic spectrum, so that may be part of the strong link.

This is why it is important not to get stuck in negativity towards others, because that is a connection too.

I agree. Forgiveness takes the negative out of the connection.
