I share this experience because I am puzzled.
Perhaps, because we live in a technocratic materialistic world that we cannot come to terms with events outside of our present "science" ?
I find that all these events and abilities are harder to accept because my view / yard sick is the long narrow road of "science" .
I get the feeling that there is another parallel road of understanding to the "science" of our world
We get glimpses of it in paranormal experiences.
If we share and compare experiences, maybe we can come up with ways to understand? Formulate a code which will allow us to broaden our horizons?

Walking Monty just before midday, I came to a suburban T section of road We were walking along the -- the T.
About 50 metres into the street there was a car parked beside the curb.
I did not see him get out of the car as I was distracted momentarily with the dog staring fixedly at the car, so i shifted my gaze back to the car.

He was a middle aged somewhat heavy set, but not obese soldier in immaculate uniform , seemingly just ironed, carrying insignia , rank and other badges.
This town is not one the military stop in, if they come through at all it is at night or not at all.
This soldier walks past the boot of the car and heads towards the house.
He steps on the grass verge and .......... dissolves. Dissipates! long before reaching the front property of the house.

Was this some future event yet to unfold? or past?
Is there a specific reason my dog and I had to witness this?
Is there a quantum physical reason behind it? eg Einsteins spooky things at a distance??
What other laws can be at work here?

Sounds like you have an eye for detail. Have you looked to see if the uniform/badges/insignia you saw on the disappearing soldier were current issue (for the time you saw him) or from sometime in the past? For example, if he was wearing a WWI era uniform, maybe the spirit of an soldier who died in that war?

My sister in law and family own a guest house by the sea. A number of guests have mentioned on their stay their seeing a spirit of an admiral walking about.
When a guest described what he looked like, the description matched the photo of him that my sister in law had found in the archives

That sounds fascinating! Maybe it was a residual haunting, where the soldier was coming home after a war? Also intriguing was the possibility that it was a future event yet to occur.

My mom had an experience 10 or 15 years ago where a French soldier from the 1600s was walking through her backyard at night. And then just disappeared.
Historically the French settled in the Great Lakes region, and the southern tip of Lake Michigan was known for fur trapping. The Traders were often accompanied by a small detachment of French military. They provided security and were the earliest explorers and map makers.

The states of Michigan and Wisconsin have towns and cities with French names. Lots of them, and to a lesser degree Indiana.

And about 10 miles south of me was the epicenter for the fur traders. It was the second biggest wetland or swamp on the continent. Right after the Florida Everglades. It's the Kankakee River Valley and today it is mostly farmland but there are state parks. And it is teeming with wildlife.

Sorry for the tangent but I get excited when I write about history.

Vocal, great post !

Looked new. I am not military, my knowledge is confined to what I learned on TV.
Apart from rank insignia, i am totally lost. Our army uniforms have not changed since I can remember, but it was immaculate clean and well pressed .
I believe he really was a soldier , Australian, but from when and what battalion I do not know.
