Disease X could kill Millions around the World

There has always been the chance of an unknown Disease X or y or Z. Suddenly they bring this up in warning form? The medical world has been concerned about this for a long time. It's like they have suddenly created a "holding" spot for the next new one to pop up, so I ask "Why now?"
