My husband like meat and potatoes. It’s hard to cook for someone who won’t eat vegetables other than corn. He will eat a little broccoli and Collie flower if it’s dunked in ranch or smothered in cheese. I some how manage.

My daughters husband is like that, she loves veggies mostly as I raised the kids on home grown food. Now her son, 2 won't eat veg except potatoes, I really think it's inherited, lol.

Oz, American ketchup is very sweet, full of sugar. Not even close to a conventional tomato sauce.

The popular one here is Fountain Tomato sauce, slightly sweet but more tangy. I liked making my own from cherry tomatoes I grew, not sweet at all.

I love most veggies...but I'm a little sick of the green beans...lol
