Was Tupperware a 70's thing?

It was certainly used in the 70s, but I can remember my Mom hosting a Tupperware party in the early 60s. She got a couple bowls out of it I think.

Since they were still around in the 70's, and being a kid at the time, I thought they were something new. Because my mother got so excited when she got her first set.

I still use it and have some really old pieces. The stuff will survive into the next human evolution lol.
