Dad Day Gifts

I'm sure most people are familiar with the Tiangle Peg Game

One year I made my Dad one of these puzzle games. The base was oak because he always wanted to get oak furniture and I painted all the pegs red and yellow because my Dad went to USC and was always wearing it college t-shirts and sweatshirts in those colors. I spent a whole afternoon on it and he said he really liked it, that it was the best gift. That was about 35 years ago and I had completely forgotten about it.

In 2019 I went out to visit my Dad for his retirement party. We were at his house and I was laughing at how he had his home office and it had stacks of paperwork everywhere. But very neat and organized stacks, like controlled chaos. But on the corner of his desk he had that handmade puzzle game still sitting there. I was like "Wow you still have that?" And he replied "Well if course. I told you it was the best gift."

One of my daughters made me bookends, quite hideous but she put a lot of effort in so I'm giving them the cup from me.
