I believe that woman are more empathic than men, and perhaps that is because of our biological role as bearers of children. Lots of women can relate to sensing that their child is in danger or afraid or upset even if not in the same room.

Men seem less likely to sense things they way that women do, but I am not saying that they don't sense it at all. I have read military accounts where an enemy was waiting to ambush someone and they sensed it ahead of time and emerged victorious because of this. It is a gift that we may all have but many are not in touch with it.

its been said many times that soldiers, cops, and criminals all develope a "sixth sense"... high stressful jobs make you more observant to body language, movements, etc.. and to trust that "gut feeling" more often

do you think that is possibly because men think they have to hide their emotions, or are afraid of allowing or admitting this due to thinking it is a weakness.. or that women are maybe more to be curious and try to find answers or allow it to grow as they start to discover the ability, where as men just push it aside and block it out. like children who show signs of abilities at a young age but as they grow it gets pushed away as "life", interests, peer pressure, (even from parents who dont undertand) etc.., change and the ability is soon lost through time.... maybe it resurfaces later in life or perhaps not.....
some are lucky to have a guide at a younger age, so the understanding and base is already there, they may be the few that are more frequently encountered.

I imagine women are more sensitive to things than men. Men can 'feel' beyond the tangible, but they don't easily share this with others. I have always had a deeper emotion toward things that i kept to myself through my younger years. Now that i am getting older, i don't care too much about the views of others about myself lol. Take it or leave it. Frankly, i have become a much stronger person for it, imo.

Because I was raised by just mum for a long time then raised daughters by myself I am sort of like a women in many ways and I believe it's why I'm sensitive to, and pick up on things a lot of blokes don't. I did cover this up as a young guy to appear tough to my peers but as Selectric says I don't these days. I'm very much an empath but I have an extremely tough shell now which comes in handy. I think it may be more genetic than a male/female thing, my whole family are very sensitive but in different ways.

I am an empath. I have not met another male empath to date. All empaths I have met are women. My Mom, my sisters
Gyda is empathic too
