Funny you should post when you did. Tonight I'm going to start reading a book recommended by our priest, "Jesus and the Jewish Roots of Mary.....Unveiling the Mother of the Messiah." I consider it part of my Lenten reading/duties. Thumbed through it earlier, looks fascinating.

Thank you, Duke. I was looking for a book for Lent and just downloaded it on Kindle.

Sounds interesting, Duke! Do you like novels? I recently found a book that I first read at age seventeen, called 'David the King' by Gladys Schmitt. You might like it if you can find it.

Thanks, I'll look into that. I'm not much of a novel reader these days, but back when I was traveling all the time, I read more novels. My favorite novelists were historical fiction writers like Leon Uris, James Mitchner, Edward Rutherford, etc. Also like Joesph Heller. "Catch-22" changed my life, and the lives of a number USAF officers. Any officer who came to work for me I made read it.

I have the first three books of The Expanse series and one of these days i will finish them. I got pretty far into Leviathan Wakes but as life always has it, been busy. Since i watched the series first, it was pretty cool to have faces and settings to visualize while reading.

Oh, you hit on my fav. topic, reading. The great love of my life, next to horses and knitting is reading. I just finished the latest book in the Longmire series by Craig Johnson. The best writer ever in my opinion. The man can spin a story like no other. Someone turned me onto CJ Box's Joe Picket series. Joe is a game warden in Wyoming who gets drawn into solving crimes in the wilderness. This is now my latest binge read. I have powered through the first 13 books with 13 more to go to catch up to the newest release. I would recommend these two authors to anyone who likes adventure and mystery in a modern-day setting.
