Theme park offers 'virtual cremation' ride - Unexplained Mysteries
The Window of the World amusement park in Shenzhen, China has set up a rather unusual attraction.
Visitors looking to experience what it is like to be cremated can now choose to participate in the park's 'death simulator' - a bizarre ride devised by two Chinese philanthropists.
Those who take part are placed inside a coffin and wheeled in to a mock-up cremation chamber where they are subjected to blasts of heat and a light show designed to simulate a fire.
Once this is over the image of a womb is projected on to the ceiling and the participants must crawl through a tunnel until they emerge outside - a representation of being reborn.
The bizarre attraction was funded by China's answer to the crowdfunding website Kickstarter.
"It at least gives you the chance to calm down, and brings you back to earth to think about some of life's problems," said one visitor. "When you walk through that door, you will experience some changes in your mentality, and it will be different from what it was before you entered."
"I think this is really great, and very worthwhile."
