There is a theory that ergot poisoning was also at the heart of the Salem Witch Crisis in the 1600's in New England.
Ergot poisoning was featured in an episode of Little House on the Prairie. If not it was a TV movie and Michael Landon was in it.

lsd (acid) is made from ergot fungus.... funny how in the middle ages it made ppl witches and werewolves but in the 60's it just made rock and roll better.....lol.... timothy leary was a genius.........er, maybe
