I haven't, just regular baked beans. That sounds nice and hearty!

Have made similar goulash. Just be cautious of the sink parts, they are a tad crunchy. 
Have you made this recipe, sounds good. I go the simple route by adding a can of Hormel chilli to a can of Bushes baked beans, sweeten to taste with brown sugar. Adding a sausage or two might make it better!
