Denver Airport Celebrates Its Place in Conspiracy Theory Lore - Coast to Coast AM

Denver International Airport is once again embracing its longstanding place in conspiracy lore by way of several signs throughout the facility which celebrate the site's infamous reputation. Since opening in 1995, the airport has been the subject of all manner of sinister suggestions from conspiracy theorists who suspect that the site is more than a mere hub for travelers. The speculation has, for the most part, centered around the underground parts of the facility which, some argue, are designed for use by clandestine groups such as the New World Order or even aliens of the reptilian variety.

Largely relegated to conspiracy theory research circles and as a kind of in-joke among those who worked at or passed through the airport, the rumors were finally outright acknowledged by the facility back in October 2016. It was then that a temporary exhibit was constructed to showcase the strange stories that have long surrounded the location. Administrators even created a contest where the winner was given a tour of the notorious underground areas of the site.

And the airport's newfound appreciation of its conspiracy connection is back on display this summer thanks to a clever ad campaign. Adorning a number of temporary walls throughout the facility that are covering up construction being done at the site are rather enormous graphics depicting conspiracy iconography like aliens and the all-seeing eye of Horus. The designs reference the tales associated with the airport, direct observers to a website about the theories, and jokingly hint at secretive happenings taking place behind the walls.

In a statement which seems to perfectly embody the bizarre times we're living in, a spokesperson for the airport mused to the Denver Post "we recognize that conspiracy theories are part of our brand." However, not everyone is happy about the facility using these concepts in its marketing. Some have gone so far as to posit that it is actually a conspiracy, in itself, to diffuse the stories about the site by ridiculing them so that no one takes them seriously. While that may sound like a particularly paranoid perspective on the otherwise innocent signage, it's perfectly in keeping with what one has come to expect from the Denver airport after all these years.

Hi Debi,
Denver Airport has been in the news for a long time with the weird paintings and the statue of the blue horse with red eyes that fell and killed the maker called blucifer!
My observations are that if secret societies are involved they mark the start of the day with Sirius or the center star of the Belt of Orion called Alnilam on an auspicious angle, being due East, West, being horizon at location, or due South being zenith or due North being Nadir in the Northern Hemisphere.
In the Airport there is a masonic marker that mentions "New World Airport Commission which doesn't exist, the airport was opened on March 19th 1994, and indeed this date at location at midnight shows Sirius setting in the West along the horizon, astronomy graph below

The day is marked by Midnight, Sunrise or Sunset previous to midnight, on this day in Denver it is an auspicious alignment, Sirius rises with the Sun!!!

Nice links, Astronomer! That airport has always fascinated me. I've always had the question, who signed off on the design of that place?

It would make a perfect interment camp. Six runways, all that land between them. The taxiways alone between the terminals are so big that it questions why. The underground tunnels would be perfect for making people disappear.

Easy peasy conversion. I'm with you on this one.

Hi Debi and Sal,
I thought it was funny when "Blucifer" had a companion, they erected Anubis to look into the terminal, which probably frightened a lot of travelers:-

Secret Societies align the day to Sirius and Alnilam, Washington DC is full of these alignments, some of these groups are really crazy, please scroll down link below to "Mass Murder and Suicide", if you scroll down to second paragraph, you will read that after death, they thought that they would all meet up again on Sirius:-

Okay, that place is legitimately freaky. When my family comes to visit they drive, because nobody wants to fly into that airport.

There is a lot of fun being had over hidden meanings in the signs or murals but it's the underground tram that's creepy. They have decorated the walls down there so passengers have something to look at for a split second as they are zipped along the tunnel. In one section it's a series of metal fan blades. As the train zooms passed the air from the train causes these fans to spin. Except it's really only the people at the back of the train who see it, and even then it's only for a second as the train moves too fast. In another area they have these flat metal sculptures of hands holding hammers sticking out of the wall. There are dozens if them and they are all in different positions. I understand that if you are in the perfect position a look at it just right you get the flip book animation effect of a hand swinging the hammer. However, for the 99.2% if passengers not in the right position it's just a bunch of hammers coming out of the walls. Couple this with the blue demon horse outside and it's not a stretch to wonder if they got a real life Ivo Shandor to design the place.
