Living in oz, skippy was a way of life. When my granny was watching it you weren't allowed to speak lol.I think there was an episode where skippy flew the chopper, not bad for an animal with limited intelligence. All in all a silly show but always got you in.It was filmed on the outskirts of Sydney but had tribes of aboriginals that had never seen white men, so fitted in with its unbelievable story line.A true national treasure.

I liked all the 70s sitcom stuff anyone born in 1967 would. But I really found interesting anything from Sid and Marty Krofft. The Bugallos (had a crush on Caroline Ellis), Land of the Lost, H.R. Pufnstuf. Shazam! was good. The Monkees. Hong Kong Phooey, Speed Buggy........

Later as an early teen we started picking up some UHF stations and I found a show that just totally captivated me. Space Battleship Yamato.......... very different and the first anime I really ever got into.

That was shown as "Star Blazers" in most US markets. Star Blazers had quite a cult following on college campuses around the country in the late 70s. Explaining the show to others who had never seen it was a hoot, they looked at you like you had a banana in your ear. A few of us told a small group of our aero engineering professors, including Neil Armstrong, about the series one day. I'm convinced they thought we were either high or out of our minds.

I wonder if you ever came across Prince Planet. It was a black and white cartoon ,Japanese, & bundled with Clutch Cargo.
