Large Hadron Collider discovers new particles

Scientists at Cern recently discovered four new particles using the world's largest atom smasher in Geneva.

Is now the time for me to manifest a little unknown particle on the ass cheeks of those scientist ? Maybe they could appreciate a quar-t. [Editing to add that this last term should sound like “fart”...but more scientific-y.]

The whole concept is alien to me. In a real sense. I wonder where the science and the background for the collider started? Could it be the peeps whi invented the UFOS? Meaning the Bell and the other German programs of ww2?
