Between here and there...

My daughter-in-law just bought a new car. I got my first ride in it this morning and after seeing all the bells and whistles it came with I told her that all it needs is a bathroom and she could live in it or run a business from it! This thing has more amenities and features than most homes! She can answer texts by voice, GPS, remote control the thing to start, has a pop up panel to control everything on it or just say "OK, Alexa" and it does it for you. I must say the heated seat was wonderful today since my back hurt, so in seat heat pads are kinda nice.

If you were buying a new car, what features would you consider "must haves"?
Four wheels that runs when you turn a key has always been my "must haves", but these new ones don't even have keys!

I was never a huge fan of extras. Bare bones was good for me as with all this new stuff, it is one more thing that'll break lol. When i bought my new car, it came with a modest amount of features, one being heated seats. For a long time i never had any interest in having them but i have to say, they are pretty awesome on a very cold morning!

Mrs Critter rates that the best feature of her minivan. Must have features for us include a/c, cruise control.
Owned a few vehicles long ago that did not have AC. I guess you never want what you didn't have, till you have it lol. Cruise control is great for long treks. When heading to Florida, i had my shoes off and foot off the gas pedal listening to music and about the same heading into PA.

that sounds like our new car, Debi! It has a remote starter, so we can start the car warming up from inside the house on cold mornings. All that other stuff on it, no thanks. I find it intimidating since I rarely drive it. I do like all the safety features on it, though.

I like the bare boned old cars. I loved my little !989 Toyota ute until I moved to a very hot area where winding the window down just let hotter air in and at 40C in Summer :anguished:. I sold it and bought a 4WD Toyota ute with ice cold air con :tearsofjoy:, but I still miss the old one which never missed a beat for ten years:cry:, lol.

I miss my '96 Dodge Neon Sport. It was my first brand new car, and was a graduation present from my father when I finished college. It had an excellent A/C!
