Mom and I text cartoons back and forth. And that's the extent of my texting.
Business stuff is always handled face to face. If the customer is a absentee homeowner or an out of town district manager for a chain restaurant, I'll call with a progress report or to tell them that we are rained out. A daily phone call is also a great opportunity to upsell.:)

It depends on the situation. If it requires a quick/immediate response then I would call. If not then text.

Many people get a first impression of a person when they speak and listen on the phone. Tell me empaths, if you please, do you get an impression of a person while reading their text ? If so, what do you get ?

This is a good question! I can pick up fine from the printed word on the forum and from emails and such. Text has a "different" feel. It's people in "staccato". I know that may not make sense, but it's like people send very little emotion in texts. It's an info only sending. There is an emotional disconnect in text.

I get a stronger impression from their voice on the telephone. I rarely text, because I hate hate hate it. It is very slow and frustrating, and I would prefer to send an email so I can use my keyboard.

I don't think it is really from text or talking or any of that....its more about relation. or having contact with, now that may be just from talking or texting, but once that relationship is formed, then you can "feel" what they are feeling.....you can pick up from ppl out in public from being in the vicinity of them or by making contact. but that is a little different from ppl you actually have gotten to know.

sorry critter, I gave a very simple answer to your question...maybe this will break it down a little more....when you are out in public you can pick up on ppls feelings around you , but it can sometimes be hard to really know who or what you are feeling exactly. so you just feel it and let it go,( that's the hard part for a lot of empaths to do) but when you get a text, phone call etc... it is usually from ppl you know and have a connection with. so you probably already know if something is out of whack or wrong with them, ppl you have that relationship with, friends, family, even aquaintences you see regularly are very easy to feel....so its not felt because of the text or call, but usually verified by the text or call....if that makes sence???
even on bourds such as this, when someone comes in and writes/responds they are leaving a bit of their energy here, and depending on what they are projecting, that can be felt as well....especially if they are actually trying to put forth a block or "shield"......as far as what do you get. it is usually emotion, especially strong anger or depression comes through the strongest, you will actually feel what ever emotion they are feeling, so much so its sometimes hard to not know its not your own.....as you progress you will learn to ignore or release the white noise, everyday chatter so to speak, and just pick up on what you want, you can then go out, breathe in all the energy and release it without going nuts....lol...that is actually a good exercise to do regularly just to control that ability....explaining empath abilities and feelings can get confusing and long, but maybe that helps a little.....

    Paul, you explained that beautifully.

"even on bourds such as this, when someone comes in and writes/responds they are leaving a bit of their energy here, and depending on what they are projecting, that can be felt as well."
^^^That. Which is why I'm often such a stickler about positive energy here.
