Following on from Bob's post and my answer, it dawned on me just how many times I have started awkward conversations with complete strangers.
This is something nobody seems to offer advice on so I thought it would be worth discussing tactics.
People like us sense or see spirits, and often gain a lot of information at a location - but then what? Sometimes I have tried to catch an owner at a quiet time and quietly suggest that the place may have an active spirit, and was confirmed.
Other times I am confident enough to brazenly drop in casual conversation "oh - do you know you have a ghost in the basement - and when was the fire?". This one fell on new staff members who looked a bit shocked.
I have sat opposite two women at a bar and just blurted out - are you witches? - to which the answer was yes, but weren't obviously dressed as such...and the conversation continued.
I have also sat next to a doctor at a dinner party, and I don't know what it was but I just knew she was one. I said something which followed along that line, and she went very quiet, but cornered me later and asked how I knew? We got along well after that.
I have asked staff in quite a few places about resident spirits - usually to the answer that they don't know, but later research proves me right.
I suppose I am just labelled as that weird guy or some kind of freak, but makes me curious as to how you broach the subject. Or if you ever do?
