Are Mothman reports being covered up?

I read an article the other day about how our eyes don't see our nose unless we think about it, it's there but it's not. Could cryptids be around us at times and it's our brain that doesn't let us see them ?

There is also the theory that if entities are from another dimension, we may have great difficulty picking them up with our eyes directly, but may see them better from our peripheral vision due to the make up of our eyes picking up certain light/vibrations differently in the two areas of the eye.

Mustn't upset The Status Quo!

Sorry for the curt answer but that is all I feel comfortable saying about it. :)
You said it all in one sentence.

It seems the only way to explain them because I really believe some people's sightings, even after misidentification is taken into account.

I think it's true that some people can see things that others don't or can't.

For many people, if they encounter something that is not part of their "reality bubble," they just discount it. For them, it's like it was never there. They "edit" what they see on a sub-awareness level so they don't even know they're doing it.

There is a fellow in our club who sees entities visually. Next time I see him, I'll ask if he has seen any cryptids.

I agree with you, but to be fair it goes the other way as well. How many UFO reports are obviously, at least to those who know what they are looking at, a/c landing lights, drones, lanterns, reflections, etc? Yet, those who want to see an alien spacecraft, see/report an alien spacecraft. The likely explanations aren't part of their reality (although I think "knowledge" fits better here) bubble.

Sure, I agree. And, lots of people are just looking for an excuse to post something on YouTube.

Do you think any of them make up cryptid report sightings, or knowingly post sighting reports that are hoaxes, to get more clicks?
Just came across this and feels it speaks to this problem. Quoting from The Anomalist site:

The assembled tales are thrilling, but one must be wary since they're from Phantoms & Monsters which is notorious for sharing tales of questionable provenance, not to mention the sheer volume of encounters making one wonder, "How come nobody sees a monster every day while taking out the garbage" or some other mundane task?
