Archaeologists uncover ancient street food shop in Pompeii

when I was there in the early 70s the guy that was giving us a tour told about the sauce that many of the people put on their food, It is not in use I dont think now,but was very popular in the early empire. Kind of like our ketchup or mayo. It had fish and other indgredients in it. I still remember thinking how could anyone eat that stuff. Here it is. He said they used it to flavor things. ugh

I remember seeing a National Geographic documentary on Pompeii when I was around 10 and while I've heard about new discoveries off and on, this one is the most fascinating thus so far.
