I remember in 2014 I almost joined a paranormal investigation group, but I bailed out last minute to focus on my studies. What I did was I researched paranormal investigators in my area and one site had a link to an application form. You can try that and see what happens, if there is no application form, simply ask if you can join and see what they say.
