Ohhhh! I too remember this cage ride. It was the worst ride I was ever on. For some reason in the 60's and 70's the amusement rides didn't have much in the way of securing a person in the seats. I remember riding a rollercoaster at Ceader Point amusement park as a 15 year old with my 10 year old skinny brother. The lap bar only came to meet my legs and my brother was airborne at time on the ride. I had to hold him down to keep him from flying out while at the same time gripping the bar for dear life to keep myself in. I honestly don't know why someone didn't fly out eventually. But that cage ride was the worst. We road that together at some fair and we both toppled out of the seat. We were tossed head over heals until it stopped. We were screaming and nobody even noticed. I think we both had bruises from it. The size of the cage was the only thing that kept us from really getting hurt. I think it was small enough that we did'nt fall far inside. To this day I hate roller coasters and refuse to get on one for any reason. I don't mind gentle rides like the Faris wheel though. We had one ride at Luna Park in Sydney called The Zipper. Two in each cage which spun around and the whole arm of the ride would turn around, fast. It was insane but didn't worry me as a teen until I got in one cage with a women in her 30's. She was terrified, screaming and her handbag came undone spilling tweezers and other projectiles around the cage. I shut my eyes to protect them and the women wouldn't stop, neither would the ride, which seemed to go forever. When it did stop she fell out vomiting, then punched the operator in the face. I never went back on that ride after that, lol.
