Playing with other string players I'd often take their instrument and tune it. Modern electronic tuners and phone apps make it very easy these days.

Tyler co-starred with Tom Keene (Plan 9 From Outer Space) in an unsold TV pilot, "Crossroad Avengers" (1953), written and directed by Ed Wood. He eventually returned to live with his sister in the Detroit area and died there of heart failure at the age of 50 in 1954
