Oh, I don't even look at beef anymore. Nope. Out of my budget for sure. Pork or chicken I can do if I'm careful. For those of us on fixed incomes, this has hit HARD.
do you have a lidl's nearby. its a store along the lines of aldi or trader joes..European type store. they are very reasonable on hamburger and even steaks, sirloins. and really, everything else. much better than kroger or walmart. when we dont go to the market we go there for meat and fish.

No, don't have one, but a friend who owns the local country store here knows some farmers and she's trying to hook me up with some local stuff. (Good grief...that sounds like a drug deal going down...lol)

My taxes almost doubled this year. And we use natural gas to heat so I'm not happy. I do have two space heaters, which may come into play this year.
same here on taxes. luckily space heaters is all we ever really have to use. maybe a week or two of actual furnace use. its gonna be hard for a lot of people i fear this year.

Good deal. I have to make a bit of freezer space. Or get a bigger freezer. I have a small chest type at the moment.

I've always had at least one. I'm thinking I need to go bigger these days. Crazy since it's only 3 of us, but if you find a good deal these days ya gotta go for it.

exactly. we go to the market once a month for meats, so we buy a ton of hamburger, fish, chicken etc.. at once. so we had to get a bigger freezer. now anytime we see a good sale on meats anywhere we jump on it...lol
