My wife and I are ROCKING the stay at home orders. Who would have ever thought that being a couch potato would be a positive survival trait?

The economic collapse is going to have a terrible impact on millions for years to come. I'm guessing some sectors of the economy will be gone permanently. In other sectors, by the time the economy fully recovers, many jobs will have been replaced by machines. There are unusual times ahead.

while I do see a change in the future I think it will be limited, most things will return to normal....maybe international travel will be more regulated as it once was and there will be huge changes in the medical fields. but everyday life will return to what we are used to, people are social animals, we have to have places of entertainment and vacations. the world operates on a service economy, that cant change. products have to be made and sold. that takes face to face deals and meetings. the tech field is way to oversaturated now, and the pay scale is rapidly dropping for new entries....in order for a balance to be met there will always have to be sectors of service related jobs and entertainment.... if you only work to survive, without any relaxing fun things to do, (sports, movies, dining, vacation, social gatherings) then depression and despair sets in...gotta have an out...……. im not sure your age but this is not the first time something has came around, the AIDS pandemic of the 80's was scary during that time, but it didn't stop ppl from doing what they do...it caused ppl to be more aware and cautious, sure, but it didn't change ppls habits or lifestyles so drastically to cause major upsets in lifestyles....this will cause some businesses to go under and will be hard on a lot of ppl, especially ppl in the tech fields or working online services / sales, but it will pass and ppl will re-start and make it work..

I think we spend to much time thinking... lol These are all suppositions - the possible outcomes and effects are endless... but assuming the worst is just that... assuming. Humanity is amazingly resilient. I am sure things WILL change - probably NEED to change obviously. That is not necessarily a bad thing.

My point here is that we have spent more time the last few years building unreal 'realities' out of thin air while REAL realities were swirling around us. Fear and distrust has become a 'daily' dose of Us against Them Wrestlemania type gaming... and it cost us dearly in this ACTUAL crisis. Fear sells. Fear sells BIG. And marketer's flame that for all it's worth. Don't worry about suppositions - just do what you are suppose to do in THIS crisis. We HAVE to break this HABIT of supposition - become aware of the REAL world around us - think for ourselves - act for ourselves - and our WORLD. Then maybe we won't be so bored that we have to create 'realities' that grow more and more NEGATIVE - but not anywhere CLOSE to The Here and Now.

Certain events are catalytic. There is a tear in the fabric of normalcy. And when equilibrium is restored, the fabric never looks the same again. The reaction to the coronavirus is one of those catalytic events in human history from which we will emerge permanently altered. The alteration itself will be neither good nor bad, but instead reflect a new form and pattern of normalcy. That could all be called a supposition. But not one based on naivety, worry, anxiety or fear. Strangely, I rather tend to welcome these events. For these times allow me to test the adequacy of my own preparedness and theories about myself along with my powers of observation regarding the human species and accuracy of my predictions about what will come next. Whether my calculus will be affirmed or require adjustment remains to be seen. In any case, I am sticking to my convictions regarding the economic fallout and all that it implies. There are times when I really wish I was wrong and this is one of them.
