Are We Prepared For an Alien Invasion

Great discussion! It’s an honor to share this place with such educated people.

There is no doubt that any species that managed to get here across interstellar distances would be much more advanced than us. We would be totally unlikely to be able to do much more than annoy them and destroy our planet trying to resist them...if they wanted to assault us and take over our planet. So far they have not shown much interest in doing much more than watching us and occasionally grabbing a few "specimens". I can't imagine that we would have much that they would want. Most of our resources would be more easily gotten from asteroids and such than trying to dig it up here or stealing it from us.

I have a feeling aliens do not think like us,at all.I feel the talk of invasion and violence which humans seem to be so good at would be a thing of their far distant past,if it ever existed. If on the faint chance they did decide they wanted this planet they would send something to wipe us out before they arrived.Something so small we couldn't detect or work out in time to save us.

well, you would think with all the alien, zombie, asteroid, robot, end of the world movies and stories, ppl would learn something, but when hit with a real life situation all ppl can do is fight over toilet paper....so I think that may well answer this question.

I tell my GF just about every other day that I’m still very disappointed that I didn’t get my zombie apocalypses.

Makes me think of a virus.
Could be,we can't even cope with earth born viruses.Could be a reason for the abductions.I don't think we should worry about something that we have no chance against or control over.

I don't think that there is any real way for us to prepare for an alien invasion because there are just too many variables. In almost any imaginable case we would be massively inferior technologically to any interstellar species that could bring enough here to invade us. Depending on their intentions their invasion might be biological, or some weapon that we can barely imagine or they could just sit up there and drop rocks down on us. The only reason that I can think of that they would physically invade us would be if they intended to enslave us.

In any case, the best that we could do would be to make it cost them as much as possible and hope that they might decide it was more trouble than it was worth. I honestly don't think that this is likely. I think that we will find that there are far more resources available in the astroids belt and out in the Kuiper belt. Also unless they are just an inherently violent or xenophobic species why fight us when they can get anything they want through trade. The native Americans sold Manhaten for a box of beads.

I think I remember Steven Greer saying we have reverse tech. that we can travel from one side of the planet to the other in seconds, like beaming persons and products. He also says that the military has special reversed engineered aircraft that currently shoot down alien craft with a sonic beam weapon, so they can grab it and reverse engineer it, and satellites that are also armed, and assist in our effort to hunt and shoot down UFOs. But he is the one that encourages CE-5 groups to telepathically call in UFO, which I think in many cases calling in demonic entities rather than ETs.

I also remember hearing I think on TV that if an alien race wanted to take us over it would probably be with a virus, so it would not destroy the earth or the animals.
